Outline of the first two level of the bridge structure has been completed together with the two 4.5 meter Type 94 high angle gunnery director for the secondary antiaircraft armament - four twin 12.7 cm (5 inch), 40 caliber, Type 89 guns.
The two structures in front of the bridge are the ventilator intake for boilers two and three which are located immediately under the bridge. Since they burn fuel oil, they need lots of air ! By pointing the openings towards the stern this helps to avoid ingestion of sea water - not a good thing for the boilers due to the corrosive effects of salt water.
The two forward tripod supports are part of the support for the bridge - a necessity because of the height/weight of the bridge and the heavy 6 cm rangefinder located at the top. There is actually a third leg (thus the name tripod) which is located in the middle of the bridge structure. It is not modeled here since it would have been completely covered by the rest of the bridge structure (yet to be modeled). The rear two supports are modeled here because part of their structure is exposed and visible.
